- Establish objectives: Where are you going? By when?
- Determine strategy: How will you get there?
- Determine major events and activities: What needs to be done?
- Determine time lines: When do you expect to get there?
- Estimate major costs: How much will it cost? What resources are available?
- Establish monitoring systems: How will you control progress?
Tips for Managing Multiple Projects
- Use clipboards. Assign each project its own clipboard.
- Color code each project.
- Always put away one project before pulling out another.
- Use a calendar for tracking all of the tasks involved in your projects.
- Use portable file boxes for each project to keep background, research and current materials together.
- Monitor your progress each week.
